About Me

Hello! I am Margaret Tebo. I am a Nutritionist, singer, song writer, choreographer and hair stylist. Welcome to NUTRIAWE, where we deep dive into the awesomeness of nutrition, and show you how to eat healthy and live an active life the fun way.

Me in my neighborhood. this RECIPE/POST

I am a Nutritionist, with a master of science degree in Nutrition. I also hold a post-graduate diploma in Food Science and Technology and a bachelor of science degree in Microbiology.

I am here to show you that eating and living healthy is achievable, especially when the right knowledge is disseminated. There is a lot to food that people do not know, or neglect, which affects how they perceive, chose, cook and eat food.

My goal is to transmit accurate nutrition and food science information, and propose healthy recipes that make you eat healthy in a sustainable manner.

Me in my neighborhood.

What Else?

I am also a music artist and so I go by the artist name Meggy Jones. I specialize in African Indian gospel music, a genre I call Afro-Indian Gospel . I am a Christian and ardent believer in Jesus Christ, the reason for my genre of music. I have been doing gospel music for over 18 years now with a couple of tracks and awards to my credit.

I run an artist page on Facebook and a YouTube channel that all carry my artist name. As a matter of fact, many people know me more as Meggy Jones, the Indian singer.

In addition, I am a hair stylist, and I have been braiding hair since my high school days in the year 2000. I had two neighbors who were sisters, in fact they were my landlady’s daughters. They were expert braiders, and used to braid people at their home. So I used to go to their house to watch them braid over and over until I eventually started helping them finish the braids. I helped with the finishing until I became skilled enough to start the braids from the scalp. In fact, the very first hair I braided from start to finish was mine.

Farther, I am a trained fashion designer, and I have been designing and sewing clothes since 2008. After I had my bachelor of science degree in 2007, I engaged in learning to design clothes in 2008, and I was trained for 9 months. This was prior to my departure to Nigeria to pursue my studies in Food Science and Technology.

Sewing and braiding hair did help me make some money as a student throughout my study time in Nigeria and Belgium as well. It still does now anyways and my husband has been my male model since 2017. The picture below is a sample of the my Ankara-English short sleeved shirt hybrids.

As of 2017, I started making and selling pastries which I do till date. I am registered in the city of Houston, as a sole proprietor offering hair braiding, pastry and fashion and design on a small scale. So when I am not making recipes and writing for NUTRIAWE, I am either singing, doing choreographies, braiding hair, making pastries or designing and making clothes.

My Family

I have been married since 2018 to my husband Tanga, and we are blessed with a beautiful baby girl called Shanthi, born in 2021. Our daughter was only three months old when we immigrated to the United States from Cameroon, in Central Africa.

We were fortunate to have won the United States Diversity Lottery, to immigrate as permanent residents into the Unites States in 2021. We presently live in Houston Texas, where we are beginning our own journey of the American dream.

My Goal

Eating right and staying active is a vital part of what I do to enable me do all the things I do. Good food provides the body with enough energy to be physically active and also enhances brain function which improves overall productivity.

I have lived in four countries; Cameroon, Nigeria, Belgium and the United States (my present country of residence), and have therefore been opportune to try different foods from different cultures and peoples around the world.

I hope to inspire you with both great knowledge and tasty recipes as you journey with me because health is wealth.
