Avocat salad is basically avocado salad. You may then be wondering why I didn’t simply go with the name “Avocado Salad” right? This is because “avocat” is the French word for avocado, and so growing up in Cameroon which is a bilingual country (French and English speaking), it is very common to hear avocado being called avocat.

This salad was the version of avocado salad I grew up eating. When I was a child, I still remember our home had many fruit trees in the compound, amongst which were three different species of avocado bearing trees. So, avocado seasons were one of my favorites, because that meant avocat salad all day long.

This salad is very easy to make, as I used to make them as a child. It requires less than 10 minutes to make, uses only a few everyday ingredients and no cooking is needed. We usually ate it with bread as it is a great sandwich filling.
